The next meeting of the RETS workgroup will be held in San Diego, CA on December 6th - 8th, 2006. Also, RETS Compliance Testing, a "Plugfest", a RETS2 Developer QuickStart Workshop, and a Wecome Reception will be held on December 6th.
The meeting will be held at the Westin Horton Plaza, 910 Broadway Circle, San Diego, CA
The RETS workgroup reserved a block of rooms at the Westin for the nights of December 5th, 6th, and 7th.
Call the Westin Horton Plaza directly at (800) 937-8461 to make your room reservations no later than November 14th, 2006. Reference the "NAR RETS Meeting" (you may have to mention the National Association of REALTORS®) to get the negotiated rate of $205/night. This rate is also available 2 nights before and 2 nights after the 3 nights in our block. If the rates quoted to you are higher than $205/night, make the reservation and send an email Myron Adams. We will resolve the rate difference for you. The block of rooms is only available until November 14th. After that date, the availability and rate are not guaranteed.
The meetings on December 6th designed for several different groups:
Compliance Testing and Debug Support will start at 1:00am and end by 4:30pm. There are six 30 minute slots for either server or client compliance. These slots are assigned on a pre-attendance registration form. Walk-up compliance may be handled if there are open times. Testing and debugging support will be available from 1:00 to 4:30.
The RETS2 Developer Quick Start Workshop will start at 1:00pm and end by 4:30pm. It is an open workshop is where developers will receive the latest information on the RETS2 specification suite and gain an understanding of how to apply this new standard. Gina Accawi will be the presenter. The target audience is developers with a background in the real estate domain.
The Plugfest will start at 1:00pm and end by 4:30pm. It is an open workshop for client vendors and server vendors to test their interoperability. This is a popular event where some of the best technical staff from the industry meet to help each other connect using the RETS specification. Server vendors will sign-up before the event to provide clients with an idea of who will be there to help.
The RETS Exibition will start at 4:30pm and is open to everyone. Developers are given the opportunity to provide a short demonstration and talk about applications related to RETS.
A Welcome Reception open to all attendees will start at 5:30 and end at 7:00.
The main RETS meeting will start at 8:30am on December 7th, and end by 4:45pm (Breakfast at 8:00am - Lunch at 12:00pm). On December 8th, the meeting will resume at 8:30am and end by 2:45pm (Breakfast at 8:00am - Lunch at 12:00pm noon).
