| The next meeting of the Real Estate Transaction Standards (RETS) group will be held in Las Vegas February 19th & 20th. The meeting will be held at the Venetian Las Vegas Hotel. A block of rooms has been reserved for the nights of February 18th and 19th.

On the first day (February 19th), developers/vendors with working client or server software are invited to participate in the Plugfest compatibility workshop. The purpose of this workshop is to allow developers currently working on RETS compatible products to test their software with various other environments to determine their level of compliance with the standard. NAR is sponsoring the first day, and will reimburse airfare and hotel expenses (up to $750) for one person for each company wishing to participate. Twenty high speed ethernet connections will be available in the room to allow access to company resources. More information will be the posted here prior to the meeting.
On the second day (February 20th), the RETS working group will follow-up on the issues from the December meeting and discuss the new change proposals. Anyone with an interest in the RETS standard is welcome to attend, but will be responsible for their own expenses. The format approved by the NAR Board of Directors allows anyone present to vote, and requires a 80% vote to approve changes. An agenda will be posted here prior to the meeting.
Both meetings will be working sessions and are not intended to be just informational in nature. Attendees should be familiar with the current status of RETS, and should be prepared to assist in discussing and approving changes for future versions. The tentative meeting rooms are the Casanova Room 606 on Wednesday and Casanova Rooms 606 and 607 on Thursday.
NAR will provide breakfast and lunch on the 19th and the 20th.
The Plugfest will start at 8:30am on the 19th (breakfast will be served at 8:00 and lunch will be served at noon), and will end at 5:00pm. On the 20th, breakfast will be available at 8:00am, the meeting will start at 8:30am, and it will end by 4:00pm (lunch will be served at noon).
If you will be attending, please email Myron Adams by January 31st so that NAR may have an accurate count for meals and meeting room space, and so that you will receive the negotiated hotel rate.
